Here is the tale about the new Orleans funeral.
The link at bottom takes a minute to load, but should give you the NPR piece. Freeman
Dear Friends, old and new, and family,
In the hope this will be of interest, I thought you would enjoy a small summary about the Commemorative Funeral my Creole kinfolks gave to my gruesomely executed ancestor Jean Baptiste Baudrau II. I have just returned from this "jazz funeral" march through the French Quarter. National Public Radio covered the event. The audio link below takes afew moments to load, so be patient...
Attached is a profile believed to depict Jean Baptiste Baudrau II [1717-1757], my Gulf Coast, half-Native American, ancestor. He holds a ceremonial feather.
His father, JB Baudrau dit Graveline, was the most successful member of the Founding Party of the Louisiana Colony. He made his first fortune trading pelts with the Choctaw and Muscogee (Creek) peoples of today’s Mississippi and Alabama. He made his 2d fortune trading in cattle with the Spanish of Havana and Vera Cruz.
His wife was “the daughter of a great Chief of the Indian nation,” and they produced one son, our executed ancestor.
Jean Baptiste Baudrau II was an agent of his father, and a famous up-country frontiersman for the French around Mobile, which was one of the early colonial capitols. He was fluent in several native tongues, and highly regarded, especially among the Alabamon Creeks. Historical accounts say Jean Baptiste served as go-between on numerous occasions in the rescue of French captives, sometimes pledging his own pelts to redeem captives’ lives. He was a well-regarded citizen of the colony.
He was also something of a wildcat. The French Gov. Vaudreuil charged him with rum smuggling to the Spanish at Pensacola. When he ran away with his mistress to Havana, trumped up kidnap charges saw him thrown in prison in New Orleans in the early 1740’s. He broke out after four months, and fled to the protection of his Indian people. The villages were located south of present day Montgomery. The Indians refused to trade with the French for five years until he was pardoned, and Vaudreuil finally petitioned the king of France to revoke the kidnap charges.
Vaudreuil wrote that “the respect of the Indians for Baudrau is to be feared. He is known to be brave, enterprising and well liked by all of the tribes. I favor pardon since his intentions were not bad… (This single man) is said to possess more knowledge of this continent than (all the other) French and the Indians.”
In the mid 1750’s, Jean Baptiste was convicted of illegal salvaging of Spanish wrecks, and imprisoned on Cat Island, off Biloxi. Coincidentally, its garrison mutined against a martinet commander, and forced Baudrau to escort them across hostile territory to English Georgia and freedom. The new Louisiana governor, Kerlerec, had only been in office 2 years, and must have seen the rap sheet on Baudrau. In response, he insidiously sent Baudrau’s own 2 sons to Mobile carrying a sealed arrest order for their father, then subjected our ancestor to a brief summary trial.
Documentation available today suggests Baudrau was indeed not guilty of participating in the mutiny. The odious nature of his death [breaking on the wheel, decapitation, quartering the body, display of the parts on the public refuse heap in New Orleans, and disposal into the Mississippi], created a deep sense of shame, humiliation and outrage on the part of his wife, mistress, half-sister, and 6 children.
The sorrow and opprobrium connected with this intergenerational transmission of trauma has been passed across the centuries. Our funeral upon the 250th anniversary of his execution was designed to bring long-delayed honor to a forgotten American hero, a skilled frontiersman who resembled later Daniel Boone or Jim Bowie, and to set his unburied soul to rest. The lines created by his Fayard, Farve, Seymore, Bosarge, Fontaine, Moran, Tannette, Dedeaux, Ladnier, Baptiste, Bang, Ryan, Lord, Lewis and other descendants runs to thousands of Americans alive today.
Nearly 100 of them joined together for a 2-hour jazz funeral procession through the Vieux Carre on June 10, 2007. Afterwards, to the ringing of bells and beating of Indian drums, they consigned a rememberance wreathe of rosemary, and the written prayers of many for Jean Baptiste, into the Mississippi River across from Jackson Square, the site of his horrible death.
Thanks for your interest in this unusual tale from old Louisiana history.
With greetings and good wishes...

Dear Baudrau de Graveline Cousin,
April 9, 2007
June 7, 2007 is the 250th Anniversary of the execution of our ancestor Jean Baptiste Baudrau de Graveline II (1717-1757). As descendants through his two wives, M. C. Vinconneau and Henriette Huet, we are organizing a Celebration and Commemoration of our Grandfather's life and tragic death.
It will take place in New Orleans the weekend of June 9 and 10, and this is your invitation to join us. Attached or enclosed is information about Jean Baptiste and a general outline of our upcoming June event.
Can you join us? We hope that you can give us your confirmation promptly - ideally, within the month - so that our planning can move forward smoothly. We will reserve up to 20 rooms at a hotel in the French Quarter, which will be available on a "first come, first served" basis. Later registrants will have to locate their own hostelry.
To register: 1) Registration fee is $50 per couple or individual. Please mail your check ASAP, payable to: Richard H. Allan, 1394 Blair park Rd., Crozet VA 22932-2828; be sure to include a stamped self-addressed envelope: 2) Plan to arrive in NOLA June 8. Our first gathering will be that afternoon, location TBA; 3) Our event will conclude by mid-afternoon on June 10.
We will use the registration fee to cover costs of our Jazz Funeral Band, our Procession Permit, and misc. costs. Any remainder will be given as a gift from the Descendants of "Suzanne" and JB Baudrau II to the Hasinay/Caddo Tribal Foundation, in honor of these Native ancestors.
Why is descendancy from Jean Baptiste important to you?
For Randall, it hinges on our ancestor's historical significance.
For Hobs it's a spiritual connection, distinctly familial/emotional. Whatever your own feeling, we invite you - if you wish - to write a brief letter, prayer or Dedication to Jean Baptiste.
Bring it with you. We will include it in the "casket" that we carry in procession. If you are unable to come, please mail your Dedication to Hobs at the above address. (If you wish to add a small check to go into our event-kitty, we will be grateful.)
Tell your children about JB2. Ask for a copy of our Press Release, and see that it is printed in your local newspaper. Bring Jean Baptiste to mind June 7-10, and join us either in spirit or in your good Baudrau-descended body, to honor him and give him the commemorative funeral he was not vouchsafed in life. Pass this email to other Cousins you know.
See you in New Orleans!
Hobs Allan Randall Ladnier

This is the book which gives quite favorable and objective descriptions of Jean Baptiste Baudrau II: Jean Bernard Bossu,
Travels in the Interior of North America, 1751-1762, trans, by Seymour Feiler (Norman, Okla., 1962),
I do not have a copy, but remember reading the account several years ago. If anyone knows where a copy could be ordered, please let me know. Thanks! |

Just read Randall Ladnier's letter about having a historical marker placed in New Orleans for Jean Baptiste Baudrau II.
What a great idea! I wish him the best of luck in accomplishing this project! It is time to recognize J.B.B.II as more than just a "bad seed" who came to a criminal's end.
Bossu's "Travels" gives an objective view of our ancestor, and counters Kelerec's biased description in his letter to de Moras.
Way to go, Randall! |

Dear Eloise, (and Norman)
Thanks for a thorough update. Now it is up to our next generation to carry on, and keep the fires kindled.
M. Randall Ladnier sent me the email below to the VIEUX CARRE COMMISSION in New Orleans:
My half-Indian ancestor was executed in front of St. Louis Cathedral on June 07, 1757. At the time, he owned a small log home on the corner of Rampart and Ursulines in the Vieux Carre. This summer will mark the 250th anniversary of his death.
He was executed (together with a French soldier) by "death on the wheel", having been convicted three hours earlier at a "Council of War" on a charge of aiding a mutiny which had occurred on Cat Island earlier that year. This event has been described in gruesome detail by Governor Kelerec in his letter to the King's Minister, Peirine de Moras, October 02, 1757.
My ancestor's death provoked public outrage in France, in the Colony of Louisiana, and among the Indian Nations of Mississippi and Alabama who considered him a great hero. This outrage may have contributed to France's adoption of the guillotine in 1792 as a more "humane" form of execution. Clearly my ancestor is the only native-born American to have died on the on the infamous French "wheel".
In addition to his being the direct ancestor of such famous persons as Pete Fountain and Jimmy Buffett, he is the great, great, ... uncle of Brett Favre, Hale Boggs, and Cokie Roberts.
He was the illegitimate son of Jean Baptiste Baudrau dit Graveline, a Canadian who had served with d'Iberville when they defeated the English at Hudson's Bay and accompanied him to Louisiana in 1700. Before the 1717 Hurricane decimated his cattle herds at Dauphin Island and Pascagoula, M. Graveline was considered the wealthiest man in the Colony.
Jean Baptiste Baudrau certainly rebelled against the French administrators of Louisiana. He was reprimanded for smuggling homemade rum to the Spanish at Pensacola. He had the gall to collect some of the cargo from a sunken Spanish ship when it washed up on Cat Island. But in 1757 he was something of a hero to the poor settlers of Louisiana who were just trying to survive despite French abuse and neglect.
He is certainly a hero to the many thousands of descendants who live in Louisiana, Mississippi, and Alabama today. His ancestors would like to place an historical marker in or near Jackson Square to commemorate the 250th anniversary of his death.
Please contact me in this regard. I can provide you with many more historical facts that support our belief that he was an important figure in the history of Louisiana.

YO - A GO FOR THE HO, GRAVELINE AIMS TO BREATHE NEW LIFE INTO FORMER ENTERTAINMENT COMPLEX
A retired teacher is joining efforts to revitalize Gateway Drive and North Grand Forks.
Bill Graveline, who taught locally for 38 years and who's also dabbled in a variety of small business ventures, has been working for the past few months to renovate the building that once housed the Fabulous Westward Ho Entertainment Complex.
Bill Graveline purchased the facility, which served as a banquet hall, restaurant and bar and a venue for concerts and comedy acts, in late 2006. |

I was recently diagnosed with a rare genetic blood disorder recently, and strongly suspect that it comes from my father's side of the family. This potentially life threatening disorder (hereditary coproporphyria) manifests itself rarely (est. at 2 in 1 million), with most carriers never showing any symptoms (90%). In me, it shows itself as attacks of EXTREME abdominal pain, with minor skin discoloration and sores, and some autonomic nerve damage.
What I am asking of you is to spread the word, to see if others have been diagnosed with this. I am a direct descendant of Urbain (8 generations), and I am willing to correspond with anyone who is interested in connecting with me on this.
I appreciate your assistance.
Sincerely,

Meeting the Gravolin from Australia
I had the chance to met Mark & Gabrielle Gravolin who came to visit Montreal and Ottawa City, they are living in Brisbane, Australia. Their daughter Veronica is working for Le Cirque du Soleil. The QUIDAM show is playing in Ottawa City from May 18 to June 25. at : www.cirquedusoleil.com
We visited the Park Urbain Baudreau dit Graveline on Sherbrooke Street and we also went to Old Montreal.
We had lunch together at the Restaurant L`Epicier located on St-Paul St near the Bonsecours Market Place.
We spent 4 hours together and it was really interesting and fun. They are such a nice couple.
I hope I will have the chance to meet them again in the future.
Outside the whimsical Cirque du Soleil tents at Lansdowne Park, friendly tulips hug the canal and invite joggers and cyclists to take a break from daily stresses and lie in the sun to relax. But if you were to step inside the tents and into the troupe's abstract world of Quidam, you'd experience a pause in time and an emotional journey examining loneliness and mystery with the marriage of acrobatics, music and costume.
"Quidam means the unknown passerby, someone part of the world you are in but you don't know personally," says Mathieu Lavoie, who has been working with the inventive and astonishing group as a singer and a creative team member on and off since 1996.

To all our wonderful friends & family, Mike was on his way to work on Tuesday the 6th , we had a severe and nasty Snow Storm , a white out . He left early, instead of taking the safer route 27 he went over the mountain on 145. on the down side, not sanded or ploughed, he hydroplaned off the road, the truck flipped, rolled over and hit a tree down in a ditch! I get a call via the cell I hear breathing and moaning , and "I am sorry Baby" then silence . I hung up called 911 , told them he was on rt 27near Kingsfield.
Well the car was white , they couldn't find him for a while. .Because he had taken the short cut on rt. 145.It took 20 minutes to cut the tree down and cut the car open
> The bags did not deploy, His seat belt held.. He was trapped inside.
Because the weather was so bad ,30 degrees and snowing so hard and fast, it took two hours to get him into Farmington. He was injured , a broken left rib, head , ,neck , ear lacerations. Trauma to chest , neck and back. He is home and doing well. God held fast to that seat belt ,We had an Angel on the visor , given to us by a sweet friend . He said he remembers just staring up at that . as you can see the front window shattered, drivers side window blew out , back window . roof crunched in.As most of you know He was trying to tell the Medics how to do their jobs. He is very lucky , I told him .
"Our God isn,t ready for you just yet, so fly right buster"!. I was ok a female sherrif came to the house and brought my wheelchair, she stayed with me , and we could hear them working on Mike the whole time. When he got to the hospital he had numerous x-rays and 3 ct scans. He is standing next to the distroyed truck crying, two days later . !!! when you Celebrate Easter this blessed Sunday be sure to give thanks for all you have . I still have the one I love . We are rich in that .
Love always Dee & Mike..... ps the medics called him LUCKY! Ya think! |

Water, sewer project starts for Ocean Beach
JACKSON COUNTY - Jackson County supervisors broke ground Tuesday on a long-awaited project to provide water and sewer services to Ocean Beach Estates.
The area has faced sewage problems for years.
"I am so excited," said Linda Fudge, a resident since 1998. "When they complete it, I won't have to go the Laundromat every time it rains."
County Supervisor John McKay, who has worked on the project for six years, emphasized that the $660,000 Coastal Impact Assistance grant project is just the start of more work to come. The money will provide services to about 45 homes.
"We have about 500 homes out here," McKay said. "Ocean Beach is such a beautiful area. It's going to grow."
The project started Tuesday is a six-month contract by Seymour Engineering to connect the homes to existing public water and sewer lines.
Septic tanks work for only a few homes in the area, off Belle Fontaine Road, between Graveline Bay and the Sound. "The soil conditions just don't perk with septic tanks and sewage ends up in the streets or in people's yards," said McKay. "This environmental problem has made this a high priority."
McKay said the county is working on three other state/federal grants. The big one involves $600 million that the federal government has granted to the state for new infrastructure. "The Department of Environmental Quality has told me that this will be a high priority when this money becomes available," said McKay.

DEAR NORMAN,
WILL YOU PLEASE HELP US EXPRESS OUR APPRECIATION TO THE MEMBERS OF THE UBGGA AND OTHERS WHO CAME TO OUR AID IN SOUTH ALABAMA AFTER HURRICANE KATRINA?
THE ALABAMA FRENCH COAST TOWNS OF CODEN AND BAYOU LA BATRE WERE DEVASTATED BY HURRICANE KATRINA. APPROXIMATELY EIGHTY PER CENT OF THE RESIDENTS OF AREA HAD HOMES SEVERELY DAMAGED (OR SIMPLY NOT THERE ANYMORE) AS A RESULT OF THIS MEGA-STORM.
PLEASE SEE ATTACHMENTS HERETO. RECOVERY HAS STARTED AND ONE OF OUR MOST IMPORTANT TASKS IS NOW TO SAY "THANK YOU."
THE RESIDENTS OF THE ALABAMA'S FRENCH COAST WERE DEVASTATED BY THE IMPACT OF HURRICANE KATRINA. AS IN MISSISSIPPI AND LOUISIANA, OUR TOWNS OF CODEN AND BAYOU LA BATRE, ALABAMA SUFFERED UNTHINKABLE DAMAGES. UNDER MANDATORY EVACUATION ORDERS, MANY OF US RETURNED TO FIND HOMES THAT LITERALLY THAT WERE "NOT THERE". THE BABIES HAD NO FOOD AND THE OLD WERE TIRED WITH NO PLACE TO LAY THEIR HEADS. WE WERE IN SHOCK AND WITH NO MEANS TO PROVIDE.
CODEN AND BAYOU LA BATRE ARE SMALL FISHING VILLAGES ON THE EDGE OF THE GULF OF MEXICO. CITIZENS HAVE LITTLE IN THE WAY OF MATERIAL GOODS TO SPARE. OUR REAL WEALTH HAS BEEN IN OUR SPIRITS. WE ARE INDIVIDUALS OF FERVOR FOR LIFE WHO HAVE HISTORICALLY RELIED ON FOR SURVIVAL OUR LOVE OF LIFE, FAMILY AND THE SEA. WE ARE A SELF SUFFICIENT PEOPLE WHO PREFER TO GIVE AND ARE UNCOMFORTABLE TAKING FROM OTHERS.
THE CULTURE OF THE LAND IS BASED UPON OLD FRENCH TRADITIONS BEST PORTRAYED IN THE NOVEL "PASSION OF THE PRINCES" BY ELOISE GENEST. ARDENT INDIVIDUALS WHO ARE PROUD AND SELF SUFFICIENT. OUR LOVE AND DEPENDENCE UPON THE SEA WAS CAPTURED BY WINSTON GROOM THROUGH THE IMAGINARY CHARACTER KNOWN AS "FORREST GUMP". WE ARE A HAPPY AND SHARING PEOPLE. RATHER THAN BE FOUND MUDDY AND HOMELESS, WE SOONER SEE YOU WHEN WE CAN OFFER YOU A GUMBO SUPPER AND SHARE A LAUGH WITH YOU.
HURRICANE KATRINA RENDERED OUR BE LOVED SEA OUR FOE AND IN HER AFTERMATH, OUR RESOURCES WERE NOT SUFFICIENT TO SUSTAIN US. THE TOWNS WERE FLOODED AND DARK. RESIDENTS WERE WITHOUT FOOD AND WATER. OUR SEA - THE SOURCE OF OUR PRIDE AND OUR FOOD WAS CONTAMINATED. MOST DISTURBING WERE THE BROKEN AND SHATTERED SPIRITS OF THE PEOPLE.
SO MANY CAME TO OUR AID WHEN NEWS OF OUR DEVASTATION WAS PUBLISHED. MEMBERS OF THE UBGGA QUICKLY RESPONDED . SENDING FOOD, WATER, CLEANING SUPPLIES, MONETARY GIFTS AND HELPING HANDS. OUR SURVIVAL WAS MADE POSSIBLE THROUGH THESE UNSELFISH ACTS OF LOVE. THEIR GIFTS ENSURED OUR SURVIVAL BUT IT WAS THE MESSAGE OF CARING BEHIND THE MATERIAL GOODS WHICH HAS GIVEN US CAUSE TO CONTINUE.
NOW, WE NEED TO EXTEND OUR APPRECIATION AND TO LET ALL KNOW HOW IMPORTANT THEIR AID HAS BEEN TO US. IT SEEMS AS IF WE HAVE BEEN UNCOMMONLY QUITE. IN "AVA’S MAN", RICK BRAGG NOTED THAT CERTAIN EVENTS ARE SO TRAUMATIC THAT SOME ARE NEVER ABLE TO SPEAK OF THE SAME AGAIN. WE WANT ALL TO KNOW OUR SINCERE GRATITUDE FOR THEIR SUPPORT. SUPPORT UPON WHICH OUR VERY EXISTENCE HAS HINGED. BUT TO EVEN EXPRESS APPRECIATION REQUIRES THAT ONE RECALL THE EVENT AND TO DO THE BRINGS WITH IT SUCH HORRIBLE MEMORIES. HENRY BARNES, A YOUNG MAN OF THE OLD BLOODLINES OF THE COMMUNITY, HAS TAKEN ON THE TASK OF SPOKESMAN IN A TIME IN WHICH MANY CANNOT FIND APPROPRIATE WORDS. FOR THOSE OF INTEREST, HENRY IS A MEMBER OF THE BAYOU LA BATRE CITY COUNCIL. HENRY'S MOTHER WAS AN HEBERT (PRONOUNCED "ABER") AND HIS LINAGE IS ALSO OF THE CAINS, RABBYS AND BAPTISTE. AFTER THE STORM, HENRY WORKED 24/7 FOR THE COMMUNITY. HENRY DID SO WITHOUT PAY DESPITE THAT HIS OWN HOME WAS BADLY FLOODED AND THAT HE HAD NO INCOME. HENRY'S FRENCH ANCESTORS WOULD BE VERY PROUD OF HIM.
ON NEW YEAR’S EVE, HENRY PULLED BACK HIS OWN CLOAK OF TRAUMA AND ELOQUENTLY PUT INTO WORDS THE FEELINGS OF OUR COMMUNITY. THE SAME IS ADDRESSED DUALLY TO THE CITIZENS OF OUR REGION AND TO GIVE THANKS TO ALL THAT CAME TO OUR AID DURING A TIME OF DESPERATION.
I HAVE SPOKEN WITH HENRY AND HE GIVES HIS PERMISSION TO REPRINT THE SAME AND AS A MEANS OF HIS EXPRESSION OF GRATITUDE. THE FOLLOWING ALSO HAS APPEARED AS AN EDITORIAL IN THE MOBILE PRESS REGISTER NEWSPAPER AND USA TODAY.
HURRICANE KATRINA - REFLECTIONS ON LIFE, THE HELP OF STRANGERS AND GRATITUDE - BY HENRY D. BARNES.
As this year winds down, one cannot help but look back and reflect on the past year and events that have occurred. All the good and the bad, and especially the good that came out of the bad, are what most should look at and really think long and hard about: how this thing Katrina has changed so many lives and the way we look at other people and situations now that we have all been through such a catastrophic event. The outpouring of kindness and love that has been going on is something many people like me have never witnessed in our lifetimes. A lot of everyday folks before Katrina would have never in a million years thought that "this could happen to me." I have witnessed changes in people that I never thought I would see. This event has brought the best and the worst out in a lot of people whom I have known for years. I just hope that as everyone is looking forward to the new year, we do not forget the things that have happened and the people involved. We should never forget the good things that have come out of very terrible things. So when you are celebrating the new year, take some time to sit down and reflect on what has really occurred and be thankful that you are still around to do this. And remember all those who have given so much of their time, money and, especially, their hearts to help perfect strangers. May God bless all. HENRY D. BARNES . Bayou La Batre
PLEASE KNOW THAT WITH OUR EVERY BREATHE, WE REMEMBER THE UBGGA AND ALL WHO HAVE GIVEN SO MUCH TO US. WE ACKNOWLEDGE YOU DAILY IN OUR PRAYERS AND HEARTS. WE ARE MOST THANKFUL TO YOU FOR COMING TO OUR AID AND RESCUE. NO DOUBT THAT HURRICANE KATRINA BROUGHT US TO OUR KNEES AND LEFT US LAYING IN THE MUCK OF THE SEAS - BUT IT WAS YOU WHO CAME WITH HELP, STOOD WITH US AND RIGHTED US BACK UP. IT WAS YOU GAVE US STRENGTH.
YOU ENSURED THAT WE HAD FOOD AND WATER. SHELTER AND WARMTH WAS PROVIDED. CLEANING SUPPLIES WERE BROUGHT SO THAT WE COULD DECONTAMINATE STRUCTURES WHICH REMAINED AND SO THAT WE COULD WASH OURSELVES. CLOTHES WERE PUT ON OUR BACKS. SHOES WERE HAD TO PROTECT OUR FEET. THE FORMER SITES OF OUR HOMES WERE SEARCHED FOR ANY LITTLE THING THAT MIGHT BE FOUND TO COMFORT US. YOU GAVE NURTURE TO OUR BABIES AND PROVIDED FOR OUR OLD. AND UTMOST, YOU WERE THERE - BOTH PHYSICALLY AND IN THOUGHT. WE FELT GREAT LOVE FROM YOU. TO YOU WE ARE MORE THAN GRATEFUL. YOU CAME TO OUR AID WHEN YOU HAD ABSOLUTELY NO DUTY TO DO SO, BUT DID WITHOUT HESITATING. I AM SURE THAT ALL OF YOU HAD ENOUGH BURDENS OF YOUR OWN. THIS WAS TRUE CARING AND LOVE. TO SAY "THANK YOU" IS NOT ENOUGH - BUT AS A START WE DO SAY "THANK YOU."
SINCERELY,
|

What a beautiful website, so tastefully done! I'm so pleased to be able to remain associated with the UBGGA after discovering you in 1996 and receiving so much help in finding out more about my Gravolin (Graveline) ancestors who came to Australia in the 1850`s from new Zealand.
I'm also sorry to hear of the demise of The Descendants, but you certainly had a good idea regarding the website. It is good to stay in touch, so have a wonderful Christmas and may 2006 be an excellent year for you and your family,

I read the background on the website about Urbain Baudreau. Does anyone know where in France he lived before he came to Canada?
I would like to someday plan a trip there and would like to visit any towns or cities where my ancestors may have lived. I heard there is a village or town in France named "Graveline".
Do you know if it has anything to do with us or is it just a coincidence? Thanks again.

Dear Normand,
We just wanted to make a few remarks about the demise of ‘‘ The Descendants ’’. We enjoyed it so much. What an excellent publication, thanks to Bob, Eloise, you and whatever helpers assisted you. We have the same problem with the publication of our local genealogy library. I am glad to see that you have found a way to keep the Association going. A website seems like the perfect answer so you don`t lose touch with everyone – also hope you can get some people to help. I have sent in my membership and ordered the 3rd book after receiving a letter with the good news from Tom. We also received a letter from Bob about his retirement. A well-deserved retirement. He told me once that his wish was to have a listing of all the descendants.
Mission accomplished by you !
Best wishes to you, Eloise and now Tom with the website.
We are doing OK. Love to all. |
